The Privacy Policy and Terms of Use of the website, applications and digital services of the Central Bank of Brazil (PPTU) on the internet ratify the Institution's commitment to consistency, transparency, security and protection of personal data.

This page aims to clarify the processing of personal data and the rights and duties of users of the website, applications and digital services of the Central Bank of Brazil (BC).

Any update to this PPTU will be valid from the date of its publication on the BC website.

Data processing

Users of the BC website, applications and digital services are guaranteed the rights provided for in Law No. 13,709, of August 14, 2018 (General Personal Data Protection Law - LGPD).

The BC has internal control systems, which vary according to the nature of the personal data, to ensure compliance with security requirements, good practice and governance standards and the general principles set out in the LGPD and other regulatory standards.

Companies, organizations and institutions contracted to perform services related to the website, applications and digital services provided by BC must observe this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and comply with them.

Contents of collected data records

When the user accesses the BC website, applications and digital services, data such as:

  • date and time of access;
  • pages visited;
  • browser type;
  • IP address;
  • user location (city, state and country);
  • action that the user performed (downloading a document, for example) and whether it was successful;
  • address of another website, if access to the BC website originates from an external link;
  • gender and age group to which the user belongs;
  • category and model of the user's device;
  • some features of the user's hardware and software.

This data can be collected through statistical monitoring tools.

The following data relating to electronic messages sent to the BC may be recorded:

  • e-mail;
  • username;
  • user location (city, state and country);
  • subject;
  • message content;
  • IP address.

Additionally, the digital services offered by the BC may request and process the following user data:

  • name;
  • mother's name;
  • sex;
  • e-mail;
  • date of birth;
  • CPF;
  • Country of Residence;
  • city;
  • address;
  • telephone;
  • other data protected by banking secrecy and other confidentiality provided for in specific legislation, depending on each service.

The use of cookies by the BC website and digital services aims to facilitate navigation and adapt the website to user preferences and allow the management of user sessions, when authenticated.

The BC website may use third-party services that may store cookies . The website uses, for example, YouTube and Google services, and these services have their own privacy policies.
